Á vef Gameinformer í dag má finna nýtt vídeó tekið úr Playstation 3 leiknum inFamous 2. Leikurinn gerist í borginni New Marais sem er ekki ólík New Orleans í Bandaríkjunum í útliti og stemningu. Hérna er hægt að sjá það vídeó og síðan hérna fyrir neðan er sýnishorn úr leiknum frá Gametrailers keyrandi frá PAX sýningunni.

Hver hefði trúað því að leikurinn Duke Nukem: Forever sem skartaði hinum eitursvala Duke væri aftur í vinnslu og ætti að koma út á næsta ári? Hljómar kunnulega ekki satt? Að segja að hönnun leiksins hafi tekið langan tíma og innihaldið mikið af drama er líklega mjög vægt tekið til orða. Á næsta ári 2011 verða komin 13 ár síðan að framleiðsla DNF hófst fyrst og fyrir marga sem yngri eru og þekkja ekki til leikja seríunnar eða sem eldri eru og voru löngu búnir að gleyma Duke þá er við hæfi að koma með smá sögu ágrip fyrst.

Eftir gríðalega velgengni Duke Nukem 3D árið 1996 hófu hönnuðir leiksins 3D Realms strax vinnslu á næsta leik og átti hann að koma út ekki seinna en mitt árið 1998. Á þeim tíma var ID Software að vinna að gerð Quake II og leist 3D Realms svo vel á vélina þeirr að þeir keyptu leyfi til að nota vélina og hófust handa að færa Duke seríuna frá gömlu Build grafíkvélinni. Leikurinn var sýndur á E3 1998 keyrandi á vélinni og fékk góðar undirtektir en George Broussard ein aðalsprautan í 3DR var ekki sáttur við takmarkannir vélarinnar. Þegar Unreal 1 var sýndur sá fólk innan fyrirtækisins hve vel vélin höndlaði opin svæði, eitthvað sem þeir höfðu átt í mikklum vanda að gera með Nevada eyðimörkina sem átti að vera í leiknum. Svo 14 mánuðum eftir að vinnsla DNF byrjaði á Quake II vélinni tilkynnti 3D Realms skiptin yfir í Unreal og þetta klárlega hafði för með sér meiri seinkun á leiknum. Broussard sagði frægt að leiknum yrði ekki mikið seinkað og að verkefnið yrði á sama stað sem það var á E3 eftir mánuð til sex vikur. Fleyg orð sem reyndust virkilega langt frá sannleikanum.

E3 Trailer DNF árið 1998 keyrandi á Quake II grafíkvélinni.

Leikurinn var sýndur á E3 1999 og 2001 og bæði skiptin leit stórvel út og fólk taldi að það væri ekki mikið eftir af leiknum og að hann hlyti að fara að koma út. Í raun voru mikil vandræði innan 3D Realms og vandi útaf því að Broussard var ákaftur að bæta við nýrri tækni í hvert sinn hreinlega sem að hann sá nýja leiki eins og t.d Half-Life ofl leiki á þessum tíma og allt þetta hafði mikil vandræði í för með sér og árekstra við útgáfu fyrirtæki leiksins. Við tóku mörg mögur ár þar sem að lítið virtist gerast og hægt og rólega byrjaði Duke Nukem serían að vera einn stærsti brandarinn í tölvuleikjabransanum. Eftir að hafa fleygt meira en 20 Miljón Dollurum af sínum eigin peningum og fengið neitun frá útgefandanum um meira án þess að þeir gætu sannað að þeir gætu klárað leikinn hætti 3D Realms allri vinnu á Duke Nukem: Forever þann 6. Maí 2009.

E3 Trailer DNF frá 2001 keyrandi á Unreal grafíkvélinni

Eftir langan þráðlátan orðróm að Gearbox Software fyrirtækið sem gerði Brothers in Ams seríuna og Borderlands væri að vinna að fyrir Take 2 útgáfurisann að klára DNF, var loksins á PAX sýningu Penny-Arcade manna loksins staðfest að DNF væri í raun í vinnslu af gamla liðinu sem vann hjá 3D Realms og væri áætlaður á næsta ári fyrir PC, PS3 og Xbox 360. Gearbox lét sér ekki nóg að lofa þessu, enda vita þeir að DNF er frægur fyrir slík loforð, í stað þess voru þeir með leikinn spilanlegan fyrir alla sem vildu og hvöttu fólk til að taka myndir á hvaða veg sem það vildi og pósta á netið.

Fyrir okkur hérna á GameTíví sem höfum verið lengi að spila tölvuleiki er viss hiki í okkur, enda hafa mörg loforð verið gefinn með þennan leik í gegnum tíðina. En við erum á sama tíma talsvert bjartsýnari með Gearbox Software en við vorum með fyrri húsbónda Duke. Randy Pitchford hjá Gearbox hefur talað um að stór hluti leiksins hafi verið komin langt á leið og mikið búið að búa til fyrir leikinn og að þeirra verk sé að klára þá vinnu og fínpússa leikinn vel til.

Síðan að Sony kynnti Playstation Move, hefur verið talsvert um að þessi nýja tækni sé lítið annað en Wii HD. Á vefsíðum eins og Joystiq, Eurogamer, IGN og Kotaku eru byrjaðir að poppa um dómar um nýju tæknina og leikina sem verða í boði og ekki er annað hægt að segja að þeir séu almennt jákvæðir um Move eins og má sjá fyrir neðan.

Áætlað er að Move komi út 15. September í Evrópu.

Í þessum skrifuðum orðum eru Rocksteady Studios að vinna hörðum höndum að nýju framhaldi í Batman seríunni að heitinu Batman: Arkham City sem hefur göngu sína stutt eftir lok fyrri leiksins, Arkham Asylum. Leikurinn er í fullri vinnslu um þessar mundir og mun því miður ekki láta ljós sitt skína fyrr en næsta haust 2011, en ef allt gengur vel líkt og síðast verður biðin hverrar mínútu virði.

Rocksteady Studios voru mjög viljugir í dag afhenda okkur ný skjáskot úr leiknum. Á þeim má sjá nýjar persónur bætast við inn í söguna, þar á meðal Two Face, Catwoman og svo verða að sjálfsögðu Harley Quinn og Jókerinn til staðar líkt og í fyrri leiknum.

Endilega skoðið þau skjáskot hér fyrir neðan, þau ættu eflaust að byggja upp örlitla spennu fyrir leiknum.

Hlutverka leikurinn Fallout: New Vegas kemur út þann 26. Október á PC, PS3 og Xbox 360 og eflaust er fólki farið að klæja í að vita meira um leikinn og hvað þá spila hann. Um helgina birtist á netinu listi yfir Achievements eða Trophy’s fyrir leikinn.

Fyrir þá sem kannast ekki við hvað það er, þá er það hálfgerð verðlaun innan Xbox Live kerfi Microsoft sem er með Achievements og PSN kerfi Sony sem er með Trophy’s.  Í raun er þetta bara leið fyrir fólk að bera saman og metast hvernig þeim hefur gengið í leik og er góð leið fyrir vinina að spjalla saman um hvernig gekk með leikina sem hefur verið að spila.

Listinn sem birst var fyrir Xbox 360 útgáfu leiksins og tölurnar í svigunum tákna stigin sem koma fyrir hvert og eitt Achievement. Vitað mál er að listinn fyrir PC og PS3 verður eins fyrir utan að það mun verða Brons, Silfur, Gull og Platinum Trophy’s á Playstation 3 útgáfu leiksins.

Aðalsprauta Gran Turismo seríunnar hann Kazunori Yamauchi var um daginn að svara spurningum frá aðdáendunm sínum á Twitter aðgangi sínu og kom með óvænta frétt tengt GT5 sem er áætlaður í útgáfu í Evrópu þann 3. Nóvember næstkomandi fyrir Playstation 3.

Leikurinn mun aðeins þurfa lítið 256MB install á harða disk PS3 vélarinnar til að keyra leikinn, en Yamauchi ráðleggur fólki að taka frá 10GB af harða disks plássi til að fá sem bestu spilun á leiknum.

Þar sem að hann var að tjá sig á Twitter er ekki mikið um nánari upplýsingar. Fyrir þá sem þekkja ekki til Twitter örbloggs vefsins, þá er aðeins hægt að skrifa 140 stafi í hvert sinn.

Fyrir flesta hérna á klakanum ætti þetta ekki að vera mikið mál þó að þau eigi eldri vél sem er komið með slatta inná hana, fólk í Bandaríkjunum eða Japan sem eignaðist 20GB PS3 vélina sem kom í byrjun gæti lennt í smá vanta ef það langaði að setja inn stærri valmöguleikann.

Það er auðvitað alltaf hægt að gera smá hausthreingerningu í tilefni GT5 eða bara hreinlega smella sér á stærri harðan disk og njóta þess hve lítið mál er að uppfæra harða disk vélarinn í hvaða stærð sem draumurinn og veskið leyfir.

Það er um að nefna að þetta 10GB install er bara valmöguleiki en ekki nauðsyn.

Í dag svo kom frétta tilkyning frá MTV móðufyrirtæki þeirra þar sem að listinn er staðfestur og nánari upplýsingar um leikinn gefnar. Bönd eins og Jimi Hendrix, Avenged Sevenfold, Paramore, The White Stripes, Jane’s Addiction, Phish, Anthrax, Roxette, The Cure, Bob Marley, Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, Dire Straits, Queen, The Smiths, Foreigner, Lynyrd Skynyrd og  The Doors verða öll í Rock Band 3 svo það ætti að verða auðvellt fyrir fólk að finna tónlist við sitt hæfi.

Á Facebook síðunni fyrir leikinn var Harmonix með verðlaun þegar að síðan næði 500 þúsund aðdáendum og það var trailer fyrir píanó part leiksins.

Í gegnum Career Mode verður hægt að spila á nýja vegu með 3 parta röddun(sá fyrst í The Beatles: Rock Band), á pínanó í fyrsta sinn og síðan gítar, trommur og bassa. Það hefur verið straumlínulagað hvernig leikurinn er spilaður og er nú auðveldara að hoppa inn í leikinn og grípa 1-2 lög og út aftur og einnig skipta um hljóðfæri á methraða. Fyrir þá hörðu er Pro Mode sem skartar dýpt sem hefur ekki sést áður í tónlistar leik. Fyrir þá all hörðustu verður hægt að fá kaupa t.d 108 takka gítareftirlíkinu til að setja sig all svaðalega í gírinn og líkja eftir gítargoðunum sínum. Pro Mode er hluti af áætlun Harmonix að kynna fólki hvernig er að spila á raunveruleg hljóðfæri.

Fyrir fólk sem er að koma nýtt inn í seríuna eða er búin að vera með frá byrjun er aðgangur að allt að 4.000 þúsund lögum í boði sem koma með fyrri leikjum, eru í gegnum Rock Band Network sem leyfir óháðum listamönnum að gefa út tónlist þar eða í gegnum DLC efni sem virkar á milli leikja. Allt þetta mun gera það að verkum að það verður erfitt að kvarta í partínu með öllum vinunum að það sé bara ekkert skemmtilegt lag sem þú ert tilbúin að syngja og eða spila

Rock Band 3 er áætlaður 29 Október í Evrópu fyrir Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii og Nintendo Ds. Vanquish framtíðar leikurinn frá Platinum Games höfundum Bayonetta er að fá demó þann 2. September á PS3 og Xbox 360. Atsushi Inaba framleiðandi leiksins gaf upp nákvæmari upplýsingar í viðtali við Gamespot í Japan sem hefur verið þýtt.

The demo is a prologue sequence titled “Velocity Attack,” and will feature a boss battle. Two difficulty settings will be included – casual and normal, with casual supplying an auto-aim feature.

Þá er hinni Þýsku GamesCom leikjasýningu að ljúka og helstu fréttirnar og kynningar á leikjum að ljúka. Við erum búin að vera að fara í gegnum allt þetta efni sem hefur komið út og reyna að birta ykkur hérna á síðunni það sem hefur vakið áhuga okkar og það sem gerir okkur spennta að spila á næstu mánuðum. Hérna fyrir neðan er trailer runa af nokkrum af forvitnilegri leikjum sýningarinnar sem við höfum ekki minnst á áður.

Fyrst er tæknidemó sem sýnir leikinn Project Dust frá hinu Franska fyrirtæki Ubisoft. Þetta er Guða leikur í anda hins gamla Populus leikja sem komu út á PC fyrir mörgum árum. Lofar góðu þessu og verður gaman að skoða hann nánar þegar hann kemur út á fyrri part 2011.

Þann 5. Október kemur út leikurinn Enslaved: Odyssey to the West frá Ninja Theory sem gerðu síðast leikinn Heavenly Sword á Playstation 3 fyrir nokkrum árum. Enslaved segir frá tveimur persónum af nafni Trip og Monkey og ferð þeirra í gegnum Jörðina í framtíðinni þar sem heimurinn hefur fallið í niðurníðslu.

Hið Hollenska fyrirtæki Guerilla Games sem eru á kafi í framleiðslu Killzone 3 sem á að koma út á PS3 árið 2011, tóku sér tíma til að sýna kynningu sem þeir gerðu árið 1999 fyrir Sony til að kynna þeim hugmyndir sínar um nýja titil að nafni Killzone. Activision-Blizzard sýndi nýtt vídeó úr Diablo III sem ætti vonandi að koma út á næsta ári. Vídeóið fer í gegnum kerfið sem snýst að járnsmiði sem er hægt að fá til liðs við sig og mun hann hjálpa við að smíða vop og brynjur, laga þau, og bæta gimsteinum við þau til að gera þau en sterkari. Hægt er síðan að láta hann taka við dóti sem þú viltt ekki og breyta í peninga og hluti sem þú þarft, síðan er hægt að uppfæra hann til að verða betri.

Á kynningu Sony á GamesCom mátti sjá nýtt vídeó úr fjölspilunar parti Killzone 3 sem er áætlaður á næsti ári fyrir Playstation 3. Vægast sagt flottur leikur þarna á ferð. Leikurinn mun styðja Move kerfi Sony og 3D.

Gran Turismo 5 fékk loksins útgáfudag á GamesCom sýningunni og á sama tíma tók Polyphony Digital framleiðandi leiksins sig til og byrjaði að kynna en meiri upplýsingar um leikinn og hvað fólk á von á þegar það fer útí búð þann 3.Nóvember og grípur leikinn.

Ein helsta nýjungin sem var rædd er brautargerðar partur innan leiksins, það eitt og sér gerir óendanlega möguleika á hve margar brautir eru í leiknum. Það verður ekki hægt að búa til brautir frá grunni þar sem það krefst dýpra dæmi, en það verður í staðin hægt að velja þeumur, ákveðna brautaparta, veður og lengd.

Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi demoed the Course Maker feature today, showing that it’s not the type of tool that will let players build a custom course from scratch, but something different. A fully featured track editor, Yamauchi says, “really requires a complete CG tool, which would limit the number of users who could use it.”

Instead, Gran Turismo 5’s Course Maker lets you build a custom racetrack based on a set of parameters. Players can select a theme, choose the number of sections and course type (one way or loop), weather, time of day and length. Two of the themes shown off were Toscany and the Belgian High Fens.

The Course Maker lets you edit that track section-by-section, choosing the frequency of curves, course width, sharpness of corners, degree of topography tracing, and bank angles. Those choices are set by sliders or drop down lists. Yamauchi created a pair of custom tracks, both with the same theme but with different parameters. He quickly took each for a test drive, illustrating how quickly a player could create two very different courses.
